Is it safe to be around computers all day when I'm pregnant?

So far, studies of computer terminals have not shown any ill effects in pregnancy. Sitting in front of a computer all day when you're pregnant could lead to back pain, though, so it's best to take frequent breaks and walk around. Moving around also promotes healthy blood circulation.

Computer use by pregnant women has been well studied over many years. In particular, studies have looked at electromagnetic fields and the risk of miscarriage. The conclusion is that sitting in front of a computer is not known to increase the risk of miscarriage or to cause birth defects.

Of course, sitting for hours while you're pregnant isn't good for your circulation. To keep your blood moving, get up every hour or so and walk around.
